Jim Moreau's career as educator and leader has spanned 30 years. He is passionate about creating student- centered learning experiences and organizations of integrity. It is important for him to help build learning experiences of lasting value, that build personal and community capacity, to those most in need.

As a past Assistant Superintendent of Schools, Jim created several "demonstration sites" of excellence in school reform and developed a process for creating small storefront schools -- a network of learning centers that enjoy continued success. Even in leadership positions, Jim continued to stay in touch with his roots --teaching for five school systems.

Jim is proud to say that he was part of the Sunchild E-Learning Community
Administration team and staff. As a consultant to Sunchild, he created all first generation English and Social Studies online curriculum, specific to aboriginal culture, and served as principal of the school for 3 years.

Jim has actively worked as a consultant for Alberta Education, authoring, reviewing and assessing.

Currently, he has developed the Sunchild E-Learning Adult Literacy Model - a crucial component of building capacity in aboriginal communities. Commissioned by Sunchild E-Learning leadership to manage the project, Jim conducted all phases of its development.

Jim has led, facilitated and presented to many conferences and retreats throughout his career. He is a believer in personal lifelong learning and professional development. He continues to study and study and consult to a variety of organizations. He understands that good leadership begins with one’s own life followed by a working practice of modeling “humbition”.

Jim is pleased to return in a larger capacity to Sunchild E-Learning Community.
