Oki, nitaniko Payoot’saipiaakii, nitomohtoto Siksika.
My name is Gaylene Rose Weasel Child; my Blackfoot name is Charging
Back Woman, from Siksika Nation, Alberta, Canada. I have been working
in the field of education for over 10 years and am currently the site
mentor for the Sunchild E-Learning Calgary Campus. I am in my third
year of the Communication and Culture program at the University of
Calgary. I was raised in the traditional Siksika way and follow traditional
teachings and my Christian beliefs. As a Traditional dancer, I follow
the pow wow circuit in Canada and the United States. In my current
position, I enjoy working with students of all ages and embrace new
experiences. I view each experience as a unique learning opportunity.
